Salary Compliance Notice
Minnesota state law, Chapter 156 of the Session Laws of 2005, requires that a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees. This notice may be provided on the homepage of the primary website maintained by the political subdivision for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days, in a publication of the political subdivision that is distributed to all residents in the political subdivision, or as part of the annual notice of proposed property taxes prepared under section 275.065.

Televisions are $10 each, regardless of size for residents of Scott, Carver, Dakota, LeSueur, and Sibley counties.
The Scott County HHW accepts household appliances for a fee of $10 each from residents of Scott, Carver, Dakota, LeSeuer, and Sibley Counties. However, additional fees apply for commercial appliances, as well as ammonia (gas) appliances.
The Scott County HHW accepts treadmills for a $25 fee.

MMCD (Metropolitan Mosquito Control) does pick up large quantities of tires off rim free of charge (some restrictions apply)- They can be reached at 651-645-9149
If you are unsure if you have a De-humidifier or humidifier, please bring it to the Scott County HHW so we can give direction on how to properly dispose of it.
The Scott County HHW currently accepts cardboard at no cost. However, there are several options throughout the county to get rid of large quantities of cardboard at little to no cost. Some disposal options for cardboard are listed below:

Gasoline should be brought to the HHW facility only in approved containers. We have the ability to empty the containers for you, and give you the containers back. Please note, this could take up to 5-10 minutes depending on quantity of gasoline and how busy the facility is at the time of drop-off.
The ballasts inside fluorescent bulb fixtures can also be a hazardous waste. We accept the fluorescent bulbs, the ballasts as well as the fixture for scrap metal.
However, we would prefer the ballast (which is a small black box inside the fluorescent light fixture) was removed from the fixture before arriving at the HHW. This saves us valuable staff time having to remove the ballasts from each of the light fixtures.
Coffee makers and Keurigs are not currently recyclable and can be placed in your household garbage.
The Scott County HHW does not currently accept plastic bags. You can recycle your plastic bags at one of the following locations:

The Scott County HHW does not accept furniture. You can dispose of furniture at one of these locations for a fee.
Metal storm doors are generally lined with wood, and therefore cannot be accepted as scrap metal. The wood, combined with the glass on most doors makes them a solid waste item, and not a candidate for metal recycling

The Scott County HHW accepts media in the form of DVD's, CD's, video games, and floppy disks.
VCR tapes, and regular cassette tapes are not currently recyclable and can be placed in your household garbage.
Scott County HHW does not accept household garbage or comingled recycling. This can be picked up at the curb at your residence. If you have large amounts of recycling, it can be brought to one of the following locations:
Styrofoam or Polystyrene is not currently recyclable in Minnesota. This may change in the future but as of now it is considered a garbage item and can be placed in your household garbage.
The Scott County HHW accepts metal yard furniture as scrap metal.
*Plastic yard furniture would be considered a garbage item and is not accepted at the Scott County HHW.
The cost for a new drainfield can vary a great deal. An average mound will cost around $17,000-$20,000, while a gravity trench system will average about $14,000.

If you know your current PIN, log into your account and change it in your My Account settings. If you've forgotten your PIN and have an email on file, follow the link to reset your PIN. Check your junk email folder for the reset link.
You can also change your PIN by contacting any Scott County Library.

All Scott County Libraries offer exam proctoring services. There is no cost for proctoring but we reserve the right to limit this service and we are unable to proctor certain types of exams.

Before a test is scheduled, you must complete our online form - tests must be scheduled at least two days in advance. Since the date or time you want may not be available it's best to schedule an exam in as far advance as possible. Contact your library for more information on proctoring.

Yes! If you start reading/listening on one device, you can jump over to another device without losing your spot. Just make sure you have a strong WiFi signal on both devices so your reading/listening history is saved and available to be reopened.
When jumping between networks or between online and offline reading there can be syncing issues between devices. For instance, if you read ahead on one device while disconnected from the internet and then start reading on another device that is connected to the internet, you will pick up at an earlier place in the book. Ensuring a strong internet connection is the easiest way to make sure the titles and reading spot is kept between devices.
