Celebrate a season of reading with Summer Spotlight at the library: Saturday, June 8 – Saturday, August 10, 2019
Summer Spotlight offers fun and enriching events and reading incentives for kids 0-18 years of age. We welcome you and your family to the library this summer!
Kids and teens who engage in learning activities during the summer start their next school year ready to learn. The free events and activities at the library can help prevent summer learning loss – watch the video below to learn more about summer slide and how Summer Spotlight can help!
How To Participate
Our paper forms allow kids and teens to choose areas of interest to focus on during the summer and encourages them to plan a variety of activities (including reading!) around their passions.
Hosted by Beanstack, Summer Spotlight Online is easy to use, tailored to different ages and interests, and full of great ideas for staying engaged and active all summer long.
Participants in both of the paper and online options can earn free books, entries into State Fair ticket drawings, and MORE!
You can now view summer events. You can sign up for June events that require registration starting Tuesday, May 14th at 10:00am.
You need to register for most teen events. Use the online calendar, or call/visit the library to register.
Our libraries use volunteers ages 12 and up during the summer to help with the library’s summer reading program and events. Volunteers typically work 15-30 hours over the 9 weeks of Summer Spotlight. Beginning April 1, contact your local library for more information, but don’t delay – positions fill quickly!
