As of January 1, 2014, to conduct estate sales MN Statute 325E.70 requires that “Estate Sale Conductors” (ESC) file a surety bond with the county treasurer of either the ESC’s county of residence or the county in which the sale is to be held. You will need a surety bond for the minimum amount of $20,000 (the minimum amount per MN Statute 325E.70.)
Filing Process
You may file in person at the Customer Service counter at the Scott County Government Center.

- Valid identification. Acceptable proof of identity includes:
- Current driver’s license
- Current state issued identification card
- Current passport
- Naturalization certificate

There is no cost to file your surety bond.
