COVID-19 Status Update - 5/4/2020 11:00 AM
Scott County Customer Service continues to accept transactions through the drop boxes for tabs, title transfers, disability certificates, duplicate titles and other deputy registrar services. We are also able to accept applications for marriage licenses via email, fax, mail or drop box. This does not include driver’s license as face-to-face transactions are still prohibited.
Please ensure that all transactions left in the drop boxes have a phone number enclosed. Requests will be processed within 24 hours and returned via mail.
Marriage Application Instructions (PDF)
Print the Marriage Application (PDF), fill it out completely, sign and submit it to us with a copy of your identification (driver's license, ID card, or passport). The application and ID documents can be submitted in multiple ways- Please follow the submission instructions listed in the marriage application instructions document.
Remember to Submit
- If you went through 12 hours of marriage counseling bring the reduced fee Educator’s Statement Sample (PDF). (Please note this a sample for your reference only.)
- Regular Fee: $115
- Reduced Fee: $40 with reduced fee Educator's Statement (must be submitted at the time of application)
You can pay with check (payable to Scott County) or credit card. If you pay with a credit card you will be paying a 2.45% convenience fee.
A marriage must be witnessed by two adults (16 or older), you are not required to be a Minnesota Resident.
Make sure all info is correct on application. Once the marriage certificate is filed, no corrections can be made without a court order.
