Aquatic Invasive Species

Cedar Lake is infested with the aquatic invasive species Potamogeton crispus or curlyleaf pondweed since 1980.  Curlyleaf pondweed management started in 2012 as a partnership between the Scott Watershed Management Organization (Scott WMO) and the Cedar Lake Improvement District. More information about curlyleaf distribution and density can be found in the Lake Vegetation Surveys completed by the Scott WMO and MN Department of Natural Resources (MDNR).

Lake Vegetation Management Plan

An approved Lake Vegetation Management Plan (LVMP) authorizes a variance to allow treatment of more than 15% of the littoral area of Cedar Lake (DOW# 70.009100) to control curlyleaf pondweed.
