2040 Comprehensive Plan
The County’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan will be drafted over the next two years and completed by December 2018. This Plan will build and improve upon the 40 years of long-range planning and analysis that has guided the growth and development of Minnesota’s fastest growing county.

2030 Comprehensive Plan
The Scott County Board of Commissioners adopted the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update on March 24th, 2009. On October 25th, 2011, and December 18th, 2012, minor amendments were adopted.

Scott County’s 2030 Vision is a long-range, big picture description of our desired future. It communicates core values, legacies, and aspirations for both current residents and future generations.

Detailed Area Plan
The Detailed Area Plan (DAP) addresses cumulative effects of development on natural resources, transportation, and storm water management and identifies effective mitigation strategies for the study area.

Natural Area Corridors
The 2030 Comprehensive Plan introduces a new program aimed at helping protect unique and sensitive natural features in Scott County. The program is based on mapped “conservation corridors” that maintain a network of natural areas throughout the county.

Public Values Incentive Program
The Public Values Incentive Program encourages the private sector into a collaborative development track that could include density bonuses in exchange for public values that promote varied housing options, improve public infrastructure systems, and encourage natural resource protection.
