Scott County HHW will be closed Thursday, December 20th through January 6th for the holidays and routine yearly cleaning. It will re-open during normal operating hours on Wednesday, January 9th 2019. Read on...
On the first Tuesday of each month (excluding major holidays), Scott County will offer local businesses the opportunity to recycle their used fluorescent lamps (including 4-foot, 8-foot, circular, U-shaped, and CFLs - or compact fluorescent lamps) for a very reasonable price and without an appointment. And, believe it or not, it gets even better! Once each year, the participating business can bring in a copy of their commercial electric bill (from MVEC, New Prague Public Utilities, Shakopee Public Utilities, or Xcel Energy), and when they do their electric utility company will pay for the first 10 bulbs, helping your business to save even more money. (Note: there is a limit of one account or 10 bulbs per customer per year).
In addition to fluorescent lamps, local businesses may bring other items to this once-a-month collection as well. The list of accepted items includes: used electronic devices (computers, TVs, stereos), appliances (microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, etc.), and automobile tires (car, SUV, and light trucks).
Small Business Prices
No other business wastes (hazardous chemicals) may be brought to Scott County without a prior appointment. Please contact Scott County at 952-496-8477 to make an appointment.
These Business Bulb collection events will be held at the Scott County HHW Facility from 9 a.m. to noon, on the first Tuesday of each month (except on major holidays, and during the period of December 20 to January 5).
